The sinister entity calling itself Akuma Kensei was once human, but was consumed and corrupted by forces of darkness and metamorphosed into a twisted, abhorrent creature with jet-black skin, talons, fangs, and sclera; a skull-like face without lips or a nose; and a mane of white flames for hair. Its body and clothes trail wisps of darkness that it can intensify at will into an aura of shadows. It seeks to create a world of death and darkness on the behalf of one it refers to as its "Beloved" - though who or what that is is unknown. It can assume a mockery of its human form, but the glamour is spoilt by the retention of claws, fangs, and black sclera, and by its distorted, echoic voice. It wields the Muramasa, a cursed sword of unparalleled power that has become an extension of its being, enabling it to summon and dispel the blade at will, and can channel its power through it in the form of black flames. Normally it wears a tattered black cloak and kimono that, like its sword, are an extension of its being, and are possibly mementos from when it was human.
